2008 Catalog /
Newsletter #1
Hi Folks,
Truth be told 2007 was not a very good year for me &
I'm looking forward to and hoping for a much better 2008. "Every cloud
has a silver lining... tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my
life", etc., etc., .....
* In January, '07 we saw the end of the Al Meixner Trio and the
beginning of the group known as Meixner Music. The end of '07 saw the
end of Meixner Music.
* The postage rates have gone up again (and yet again in May, '08), the
cost of packaging supplies have increased so I am forced to increase my
charge to $4.00 per order. (that makes my free shipping deal really
worth it - you save $4.00 by ordering 3 or more items)
* Speaking of the US Postal Service - somebody in the system must
really like my music because that person stole over $1100 worth of CDs
& tapes from a package headed for the New Braunfels, Texas
Wurstfest.
Let's get on to some better topics....
* Some Eastern PA polka musicians are currently working on new
projects so we should have some nice, new releases in the next few
months. Also, through the marvels of modern technology, I am digitally
remastering some classic Jo-Al Records polka albums of days gone by and
making them available as Budget Line CDs.
* In an effort to reduce costs, many of you have asked to be taken off
the "postal" mailing list and to be put on my "e-mail" mailing list.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. If you want to be added to our musical
family via e-mail, please send an e-mail to
al@almeixner.com
include your name, city & state in the e-mail.
* When you order from me, please give me your e-mail address so that I
can notify you of online catalog specials and be sure to register for
my rewards program by sending in the postcard.
* If you are visiting my website, be sure to click on the CD Baby or
iTunes links on certain releases. That way you can listen to samples of
many of the songs right on your computer and, if you want, you can also
buy those CDs or download them right on the internet.
* Also, if you're on the internet - check out my International Showcase
radio show every Saturday morning from 10 AM to Noon. Take the link to
my radio show on my home page.
* If you know of any good polka bands that would like their CDs played
on my radio show or sold in my catalogs, have them send me a sample CD
with all of the contact information.
* Well, I've rambled on quite a bit this time and I hope all of the
little tidbits in the next catalog / newsletter are good ones.
Until next time - stay happy, stay healthy
and be sure to sing, hum or whistle a song every day .......... make it a polka !!!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ
About our mail order catalog... You'll
notice that we don't have a real big selection. The reason is space -
print space in our quarterly catalogs is limited and warehouse space
for the actual merchandise is also limited. We don't sell every polka
recording that comes along. The compact discs, cassettes, and DVDs that
we sell are screened for exceptional merit. We go from one end of the
country to the other to find artists whose recordings are good, but you
won't find in your local mall music store because they are
independently released. We audition the recording and adequately
describe the features. We list the titles of new releases, when
possible, and make it available to you for at least six months.
Note: We have the right to refuse and/or return any order.
ONLY ORDER FROM THE CURRENT
CATALOG
BECAUSE IF IT'S NOT LISTED, WE DON'T HAVE IT ANYMORE.
New catalogs are mailed approximately every 3 months.
Concerning returns -
We guarantee all merchandise against manufacturing defects.
If you receive a defective item, contact us by phone, e-mail or postal
mail within 30 days for a return authorization number. Items returned
without an authorization number will not be accepted.
NO SUBSTITUTIONS ARE ALLOWED
ON RETURNS;
NO CASH REFUNDS ON RETURNED MERCHANDISE.
Also, all orders from PA
residents must contain 6% PA sales tax
as indicated on the order form.
